    YES!

    Gotta love Mac!

  2. hagar the horrible Says:

    first!

    “go have some fun”

    great update.

    And Mac is awesome

  3. Alex B Says:

First!!!! YAY (Unless someone beats me)

How did they clothes not get destroyed? :D

  4. Alex B Says:

Sorry for the 2nd comment but really how did their clothes not get destroyed in the crash? Or even a bit damaged? Magic!

Oh and look a kid vampire :D Very cool update this.

  5. Lex Says:

Awesome comic! Beautifull art. The story is mind-blowing. The whole zombies vs world is as cool and believeable as any other, but then you introduce vampires! And now you’ve actually explained this zombie epidemic in a way that seems very straightforward and plausible. The whole space probe that got too close to Venus never really cut it with me.

Interesting take on the zombies being controlled by the First Zombie who was a vampire once, because a zombie is actually a mindless extension of the will of it’s creator if you’re into occult. They shouldn’t really be around at all unless there is a controller/animator (Writter/Artist? Wow that’s a paralell Zombie VS This Comic)

  6. Bobby Crosby Says:

Addison’s clothes are fireproof (he’s smartest person ever, easily whipped up some fireproof clothes) and it’s hard to see the clothes of the other vampires very well — in at least two places I see vampires’ clothes burning off, and we see one big fat vampire with no shirt on at least, so there you go. Not all of them were directly in the fire either. Many were thrown out of the plane in various ways and didn’t touch any fire.

  7. Lex Says:

LOL Yea, I was first too

  8. Michael Cra Says:

ooo… ooo… brief case brief case whats in the shiny Brief Case. Awesome update by the way ^_^ love the last Panel, im guessing the Black boy Vampire has some sort of power with his eyes or is blind either way something cool will come from it ^_^ I can’t wait to see!!!

  9. Lex Says:

Hey yea, what is it with the fat vampire? If I was going to be immortal, it’d really only be bearable if I had a tiny shred of self-respect. Or is he and his four friends behind him more zombies that havn’t burnt off?

  10. Alex B Says:

Odd I was showing as first, now not? Bah oh well.

Bobby I’ve taken a closer look and I can see the other damaged clothing, sorry to be picky :D Its a great update, at first I figured the fat guy was a zombie lol!

Finally its good to see a coloured person (Vamp) at long last in this comic :)

  11. Michael Cra Says:

Alex, It takes a few minutes to register the Posts i believe because it showed me behind bobby for awhile then Lex popped up.

Also i thought the fat vampire was a zombie too but bobby said the fat vampire without a shirt so im guessing all the un-abnormal bodies coming from the plane are vamps too.

  12. Bobby Crosby Says:

See the zombie on the far left and the one on the far right of the last panel, how they’re all skeletal and just very clearly zombies? That’s how Owen’s been drawing the zombies lately, so I just figured anyone who doesn’t look like them are not zombies. The only two vampires specifically scripted in the last panel were Addison and Rage. The rest was just basic instructions of do a ton of carnage and fire and vampires and zombies and so on. I assume the fat one’s a vampire, but not positive — doesn’t matter.

“It takes a few minutes to register the Posts i believe”

Posts from new people need to be moderated, so they don’t go up until I approve them. There are also some other criteria for certain posts that need to be moderated.

  13. Owen Says:

The fat guy is a vampire. Most vamps would be good looking but I’m sure sometimes less attractive people get turned. there could be lots of reasons. I assumed he’d be easy to peg as a vamp because the vamps right behind him aren’t attacking him.

  14. Nekokaburi Says:

hah, speaking of that zombie on the far right, take a good look at him. What does the posture/expression say to you?
To me, it says “Nice lady vampire, please stop waving that sword around in my direction. Someone could lose an eye.”

Odds are the briefcase contains the end sum of Payne’s research. I’m still more curious about the trailer. What was it that Mac felt was so important he had to run off to get it while thousands of zombies closed in on the only other people he knows of that are still un-zombified?

Also, the zombie head poking out of the rubble seems oddly happy about being placed under and between a guy’s legs. :P But maybe it’s a girl zombie, lol. (Yeah, I know it’s actually further back, behind him, but still.)

And finally… Mac is still The Man.

  15. Chris Says:

With a name like Rage, I’m betting he’s not there for his happy disposition and kindness to animals. Interesting that he has no weapons.

Regarding the children vampires, were they turned as children or born(i forgot if that was possible, i think it was)? That would really suck to be them if they never physically appeared to grow up for the rest of their lives and they talked like adults. they look somewhere around 10ish. actually now that i look at it, I’m not sure if the girl left of Payne a child?
is she stabbing herself in the leg?

  16. Chris Says:

Oh, Nekokaburi Mac’s trailer probably has food and supplies in there. Since there is no food production anymore any would be important for the survivors. maybe seeds for planting too.

  17. Michael Cra Says:

hah, speaking of that zombie on the far right, take a good look at him. What does the posture/expression say to you?
To me, it says “Nice lady vampire, please stop waving that sword around in my direction. Someone could lose an eye.”

Maybe the zombie’s thinking damn lady your holding a long sword and your on fire damn im screwed, or maybe just admiring her nice jacket i mean look at how he’s holding his hand he’s clearly a gay zombie. ;-p

  18. Austin W Says:

i like the punk vamp in the close right of the last scene, and rage dont need no weapons!

  19. Kez Says:

    Whoa! Awesomeness incarnate!

  20. baconvein Says:

wow, my favorite post so far, i love this. keep it up.

  21. Erik Says:

I love this comic, the art is excellent and the story is well scripted and has an interesting concept.
So we finally get to see more vampires, alot more =]

I’ve downloaded the pdf’s from Wowio for the comics of your’s I read but haven’t had a chance to go back through them.

  22. Szyronn Says:

    awsome page

  23. Lance Says:

I never thought there’d be that many vamps in this comic. Considering it only took two of them to easily kill 50 zombies, I think with at least 8 others joining in the humans will be alright.

Anyway, good work to Bobby and Owen yet again, nicely done

  24. Teardropcatcher Says:

I love this comic. Awesome story and I really like Addison the way he’s drawn and because he’s so cool and calm and, well, he has a shiny breifcase! XD
I hope the fat vamp will make more appearences, the vamps kind of remind me of the cenobites, so a fat one would sort of complete the group. I’m loving this, hahaha. See you next update!

  25. Hogi Says:

Love the last panel, great drawing.

  26. Nara Says:

    OMGODNESS i am sooo happpiiiiiiiii
    overdosing on Coolness!!

  27. Mr. Chin Says:

I would like to think of that fat, shirtless vampire in the back as the vampire equivalent of Moustache Man. Since he’s so much fatter, we should naturally assume that he has to feed more often and therefore I’ll bet he’s been complaining a lot lately and the other vampires are really starting to get sick of him.

Bobby and Owen, thanks so much for the rapid-fire updates as of late. Keep up the good work!

  28. Zaldaran Says:

wow gotta say, those are some of the creepiest more original looking vampires i’ve seen in a while.

  29. Northstar Says:

LOL oh I love that so much! “We didn’t get em all.. go have some fun.” XD If I were him I’d have been like “WOO HOO!!!”

  30. Northstar Says:

oh I didn’t notice til the second time that there’s a lil Kid Vampire too! When they’re done slaughtering zombies he needs a cookie!

  31. Brellchild Says:

Trying to decide who I would dream cast as Addison Payne. Would be tough to get just the perfect mix of brains, centuries of experience and underlying vampiric badass.

It frustrating because I can hear the voice in my head but I can’t remember the actor’s name. As a second choice Ben Kingsley would be totally awsome but I doubt you could afford him.

Guy next to him looks like a vampiric viking berserker. Seriously scary thought if you have ever read up on thise guys…

  32. Thesis Matt Says:

The three things I get from this page are:

    Mac is indestructible.

Addison has a briefcase that contains something important.

There are a lot of vampires on the scene now.

Depending on how this turns out it might kind of kill the direct hopelessness of the situation. Kind of like when the cops burst in at the end of the Clue movie.

If the artist can just ad-lib new vampire characters in a wanton manner, then surely they aren’t important. Must be something coming up in the story that changes a lot…

  33. Thesis Matt Says:

    As a side note.

Addison Payne looks like an Elite Beat Agent.

    And that’s awesome.

  34. Thesis Matt Says:

Oh, god. My sides hurt! This is great. That briefcase has a microphone in it. He’s gonna sing Jumpin’ Jack Flash!

Oh god I wish I could draw. It would be the best fan-art.

  35. Will Says:

Woohoo! Looks like I was right on the last page, when I said that the vamp in the seat next to Addison seemed to be the big bad ass of the vampires that lays waste to everything?

So Addison is the smartest, Whatshername can fly, Math has the best smell… is Rage the best fighter like I figured?

btw, sorry for the repeat question last page too about if killing a vamp kills their sired

  36. Bobby Crosby Says:

“Depending on how this turns out it might kind of kill the direct hopelessness of the situation.”

Even 200 vampires couldn’t save 31 humans from millions of zombies who are controlled by someone with an actual working brain, and keep in mind that TFZ can drop bombs on them whenever he chooses to. And some hope is always good.

“If the artist can just ad-lib new vampire characters in a wanton manner, then surely they aren’t important.”

They’re not important for the first graphic novel/film, no — well, they sort of are, but their specific characters aren’t — it’s just important that they’re there. And there’s so many of them that it’s doubtful we’ll actually see a close up of all of them in this first graphic novel, so we could always bring in “new” ones for the sequels.

“Must be something coming up in the story that changes a lot…”

    Multiple things, yes.

“is Rage the best fighter like I figured?”

Doubtful that he’s the “best” fighter, but he’s the most enthusiastic about fighting/killing and he’s pretty darn good at it.

  37. KamakaziSparow Says:

Lets see… I count… 12 vampires… plus Math and Val… plus Devian… plus Murdo… That’s 16. Will that have anything specific to do with the story itself? Like: “There must be 16 for the Arcane circle to be completed, from which we slall deploy the most powerful weapon of powerfulness!”

  38. PZenteno Says:

wuju!!!!!!! Rage is cool! and payne is anorexic! (I thought he would have at least a little more “muscle”)

  39. Bobby Crosby Says:

    “I count… 12 vampires”

Over 30 were in the plane (all survived). You’ll see more on the next page.

  40. Bumtown Says:

“Even 200 vampires couldn’t save 31 humans from millions of zombies who are controlled by someone with an actual working brain…”

    …Vampire Leonidas could do it.

  41. Brellchild Says:

Vampire Leonidas had the advantage of terrain and the advantage that his enemy needed to keep enough of his army intact to kill several cities later.

    Neither apply here.

  42. Bubble Says:

Hey, I’m really enjoying this comic so far! Awesome artwork and great story!!!

  43. Gregory Brown Says:

Just found this comic and spent about 10 hours read start to date and all I can say is “WOW!!!!!!!” Cant wait for the next page! I love it “Rage and Payne” sounds like a law firm. LOL

  44. Lydia Says:

    Mac is awesome.

I like Addison and Rage quite a bit, and the fat vampire is certainly interesting. But what’s up with the little vampire children? Looks kind of like every type of vampire-cliche was tossed into the final panel.

  45. Austin W Says:

payne looks like a mib. is the suitcase filled with laser guns and memory erasers?

  46. Alex B Says:

Why is the girl vamp on the left hand side stabbing herself in the leg?

  47. Bobby Crosby Says:

“Why is the girl vamp on the left hand side stabbing herself in the leg?”

Obviously not doing that. Most likely the sword or whatever is simply behind her leg, but if it is in her leg (and it’s probably not), she’s pulling it out after it accidentally went there in the huge plane crash that she was just in. Million things could have happened.

  48. Brellchild Says:

Whatever is in that case has got to be pretty important if he chained it to his wrist. The world has officially gone to Heck in a handbasket and Payne makes sure that case stays with him even if he gets jumped by a horde of zombies and has to fight his way out.

You suppose Payne has ever gotten the chance to study a ‘First Zombie’ in the lab? I wouldn’t put it past him.

  49. ThePrisoner Says:

i see a problem arising…..how will they be able to keep all those vampires sustained on so few people?

  50. Katticus Says:

the little kid vampire looks so….
devilishly happy. He’s like, “chuckle chuckle cookies chuckle chuckle killing zombies nyehehehe!”
or he could just be going “OMG this is so cool I get to actually fight with my heroes!” and stuff. I’m guessing he was born a vamp. So, some of these guys would be like his icons/role models.

  51. Katticus Says:

oh, and does the vamp lady holding the sword to the right looks like she’s gonna hit the zombie over the head with it instead of use it like a sword, or is it just me? (sry about the double-post)

  52. Thesis Matt Says:

Well, Bobby said that he adjusted the number of vampires to about the number of humans.

    So….the buddy system?

  53. Bobby Crosby Says:

“how will they be able to keep all those vampires sustained on so few people?”

This has been answered way too many times, including in the comic itself. Once again, the vampires need tiny amounts of blood to sustain themselves, like just slightly more than none. The conflict is just about surviving in general and keeping any humans alive (and then enough to repopulate the human race too, of course, for the long term), which is tough enough as it is.

  54. achrin Says:

thank science for airbags…. standing there like it was just before a meeting giving orders …..black covers the smudges and dirt and asbestos to boot i bet… cause i don’t think he has to worry about any lung disease….anyway first wave down second wave incoming

  55. Katticus Says:

    http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w23/KatRisser/clanmatheson.gif

in case one doesn’t work, click the other.
    the clan Matheson family crest.
I thought it was neat. :)

  56. Lance Says:

    Buddy system, hehe.

Well Bobby said there was thirty vamps on the plane,so there’s actually more vampires than humans now. Also, the situation in Mexico hasn’t been clarified, so it could be that there’s more than just 31 people to repopulate the world. Anyway, it’ll be pretty akward when it comes to the repopulation. Even assuming that there are say fifteen males and fifteen females all off necessary age in there, that’s only fifteen different groups of children. The math is complicated due to the number of variables, but still, weird much.

  57. Christine Says:

Is Rage a werewolf? If he was, that would be awsome

  58. Lance Lostblood Says:

I believe Bobby said something regarding the people in Mexico and the vampires in the plane a while ago in the comments. I think I know what it was, but don’t want to go through all/most of the comments just to find it and be sure. But it involved alot of collecting before boarding the plane. Don’t want to put anything else here cause it might be a spoiler/misdirection.

Keep up the good work, and keep fighting those d***s that post in Marry Me.

P.S.: If you didn’t get it from the name, I’m a big fan of Wicked Lasers too, until their whole Loop Laser thing.

  59. di'Taykan Says:

…I think I want to marry the vamp with the eyebrow rings, and I don’t know why.

  60. Aquamage Says:

SWEET JEBUS I LUV THIS COMIC!

  61. Lex Says:

I’t have to wonder if any “extra mouths to feed” were killed off. I’d prolly quietly kill off the fat one. Too bad the survivors can’t feed off him to survive…

  62. Aquamage Says:

Is there a little boy vampire in the crowd? and if so he looks a little bit excited for this battle.

  63. Ryah Says:

This comic is seriously SERIOUSLY bad-ass. Vampires, zombies, attractive vampire guys and girls, attractive human guys and girls, blood, and explosions… ALL AT THE SAME TIME. Thank you, Bobby and Owen, for making something so awesome.

  64. awsomereader Says:

this panel is awsome love the vampire in the front that looks like a
    beast!!!!!!!:)

  65. Dramagod Says:

I have stumbled upon the greatest vampire/zombie related comic ever! huzzah!!!!

anyways . . . .Addison Payne should totally be played by Ron Perlman

  66. Tegu Says:

THIS IS THE BEST PAGE SO FAR!

  67. Irrevenant Says:

Hmm, am I the only one wondering if there are enough people to feed all those vampires?

  68. Trilbydude Says:

    haHAH!

    now THAT’S an entrance! =]
