This page made me forget why I ever liked TFZ. I’m sure Bobby, Lydia and lots of other people will be happy. On a completely different note, I was totally right when I bet 30$ about when the page is coming up.
I think lots of people will post “Ouch” or something like that referring either to April or the panel 2 guy, heh. Math is totally jumping out of the building a la Murdo. In case you have no idea what I’m referring to, Murdo jumped off the roof on page 83.
And one more thing. Who is #3 jumping out of the window?
November 28th, 2007 at 7:31 pm
…Anko, you seriously are the biggest fan. I checked this page, like, not ten minutes ago and you’ve already posted.
November 28th, 2007 at 7:33 pm
i hope rage opens a can of whoop ass for Adisons death and kills zombies rage style
November 28th, 2007 at 7:33 pm
take the two youngest Children then fllow these instructions…
Sweet
November 28th, 2007 at 7:34 pm
Another wicked page. I’ve never posted, but this page is excellent, like usual. I feel bad for the survivors who lived so long, only to die now. At least two kids are alive.
November 28th, 2007 at 7:34 pm
Anko i would guess its the Big Black Vamp jumping out the window, only b/c he’s the only other vamp we see other than Math and Devian on this page, although if you look closely, theres some Eddie action in the background.
*glee*
anywho, awesome, can’t wait to see more!
November 28th, 2007 at 7:35 pm
A major event and an excellent chapter
Applause!
November 28th, 2007 at 7:36 pm
If I were a woman (or a queer for that matter) I would love you both, Owen and Bobby.
November 28th, 2007 at 7:36 pm
Poor WLB… not.
Love the last two panels. Have to agree with Anko, who’s #3 out the window?
Minor nit, though. In panel 1, April’s burned her right hand, but in panel 5 it looks like her left one’s been hurt.
Still, great page. Last Blood is one of the first sites I check every time I sit down in front of the computer.
Later,
November 28th, 2007 at 7:38 pm
Love this page, the comic only continues to get better and better. I must admit however i dont always read all the comments did i miss something? Why does Aprils hand seem to be burned after stabbing TFZ?
November 28th, 2007 at 7:38 pm
“…Anko, you seriously are the biggest fan. I checked this page, like, not ten minutes ago and you’ve already posted.”
Also, on the previous page I bet 40$ on having the first post. I am the crazy fan that wakes up at 3:40 AM to check for new pages.
Oh, and I also got the first post on MM today. ^_^
November 28th, 2007 at 7:38 pm
wow, awesome page. note for owen tho, u drew april getting burned on her right hand when she stabbed Francis. but in the 5th panel her left hand is the one that’s burned. just a small inconsisitency u should look out for ^^.
November 28th, 2007 at 7:39 pm
I hate to bring this up, but April’s holding the wrong hand in panel 5. Other than that, this is a wonderful page.
November 28th, 2007 at 7:40 pm
long time reader, first time poster. Lately, I’ve been checking this comic obsessively. Another page well done!
Though, I’d like to see some more Rage, where’s he been?
November 28th, 2007 at 7:42 pm
What’s up with April’s hand?? That looks pretty painful.
November 28th, 2007 at 7:42 pm
I hope there are lots of squishy (and non-bitey) zombie corpses below so the humans don’t get hurt from jumping out of this multi-story building. D:
November 28th, 2007 at 7:43 pm
Well, the humans are pretty much hosed. Nothing but a room full of zombie chow!
Is it just me, or is April nursing the wrong hand in panel 5? In panel 1 it’s her right hand that was burned, but in panel 5 it looks like her left hand.
Oh, and I was looking at some of the first pages again, and I must say: Owen, your artwork has improved dramatically since the comic began!
And I agree with Cat: Anko is definitely the biggest fan!
November 28th, 2007 at 7:43 pm
One of my favorite pages ^^
November 28th, 2007 at 7:44 pm
when you kill a vamp or in this case TFZ it makes the stake really hot. Thats why there is the smoke coming from his back. And why some came out of Vla and AFP’s chests.
November 28th, 2007 at 7:45 pm
Crap, two other people mentioned April’s hand in panel 5 already. Ah well…
I think April’s hand is burnt because vampire’s bodies get superhot when they’re staked, hence her badly burnt hand. That’s what’s been established in this story, anyway.
November 28th, 2007 at 7:45 pm
I see math, and the flying chick. but whose the third one to escape? is that the black fella?
November 28th, 2007 at 7:49 pm
Something about the last two panels made me smile, just the difference in trajectories between Math jumping out and Devian flying off.
Awesome story, awesome comic.
November 28th, 2007 at 7:50 pm
writer1337 (7:48:09 PM): hey who was the third vamp jumping out of the window on the new page?
BobbyC1012 (7:48:10 PM): h he
BobbyC1012 (7:48:14 PM): Wrong window.
BobbyC1012 (7:48:20 PM): Do not know, do not care.
BobbyC1012 (7:48:32 PM): They’ll all be jumping out very soon.
BobbyC1012 (7:48:36 PM): Carrying humans.
writer1337 (7:48:46 PM): ok
BobbyC1012 (7:48:58 PM): Within 30 seconds all the vampires and humans will be on the ground running, except for Rage (you’ll see later).
writer1337 (7:49:12 PM): ha
writer1337 (7:49:13 PM): sweet
writer1337 (7:49:24 PM): thnx
BobbyC1012 (7:49:27 PM): No problem.
writer1337 (7:49:37 PM): awesome page, btw
BobbyC1012 (7:49:41 PM): Thanks, buddy.
November 28th, 2007 at 7:50 pm
Am i the only one that was thinking dang that zombie went mike tyson on that guy the second they seen that comic?
November 28th, 2007 at 7:52 pm
My theory: Sullivan comes in with his zombies and just owns the Francis’s zombies. While Francis’s are now mindless, Sullivan’s have their (well, his) minds and they have the vamps on their side. And Little black dude will stab another zombies eyes out again!
November 28th, 2007 at 7:53 pm
Yes! Loving it! Thanks Owen and Bobby for making my night!
November 28th, 2007 at 7:53 pm
“Why does Aprils hand seem to be burned after stabbing TFZ? ”
When a vampire is staked, the stake gets white hot and since TFZ is just a blood-starved zombie, when he died, it became white hot. Hence the blistering skin on April’s hand.
Poor girl.
November 28th, 2007 at 7:57 pm
“I think April’s hand is burnt because vampire’s bodies get superhot when they’re staked, hence her badly burnt hand. That’s what’s been established in this story, anyway.”
Listen to Cat, she knows what she’s talking about. The STAKE gets extremely hot.
November 28th, 2007 at 7:57 pm
you know it’d be funny if both of those kids actually hated each other and they ended up being the only ones. awesome story btw. can’t wait for the secound series.
November 28th, 2007 at 7:58 pm
This is sofa king awesome.
November 28th, 2007 at 8:04 pm
I’ve been reading this for a while, and ya’ll always seem to update right before I check.
This comic rocks, and I can’t wait for it to be a movie. I’ll be there on the first night, world premiere, even if I have to take out a couple celebrities. I think the characters are well balanced, it has none of the vampire cliches or even action cliches. You even killed off AFP, which I would have hesitated on if he were my own character.
Wonderfully done, and later pages and these “sequels” you keep evilly hinting too are keeping me on the edge of my seat.
How dead is TFZ? I’m hoping he wasn’t up there drooling on April’s shoulder. No possible collarbone gnawing?
November 28th, 2007 at 8:05 pm
Drako 784 (7:36:34 PM): there’s one thing I don’t get about the stakes though
Drako 784 (7:36:43 PM): wood doesn’t conduct heat
Drako 784 (7:36:58 PM): like if you light a match
Drako 784 (7:37:07 PM): the bottom stays cool until to fire reaches it
Drako 784 (7:37:15 PM): or is there just a blast of heat from the exit wound
BobbyC1012 (7:37:33 PM): Don’t know, don’t care — all I know is it gets insane hot. In the movie it might just instantly light on fire.
Drako 784 (7:39:55 PM): any further developments on that front?
Drako 784 (7:40:05 PM): the movie I need
BobbyC1012 (7:40:09 PM): Yes, tons.
BobbyC1012 (7:40:16 PM): No time to talk now about it
November 28th, 2007 at 8:05 pm
Hmmm, out the window. From the frying pan into the fire I would say! But obviously their only means of escape, as the stairway was plumb full of hungry zombies.
‘while the TFZ er, WLB’s away, the zombie masses will play, er, eat!’
Excellent work my friends!
Both Bobby and Owen are doing a spectacular job on this comic. I love the story and the development/presentation of the characters, and the details in the drawings keep getting better and better!
Can’t wait to see what happens next!
November 28th, 2007 at 8:07 pm
Wheee!
November 28th, 2007 at 8:07 pm
Hey Anko, you don’t chat anymore?
November 28th, 2007 at 8:15 pm
In the movie you might want to make the zombie who bit the ear off look like mike tyson
November 28th, 2007 at 8:18 pm
…and this is definitely one of my favorite pages all panels look great.
November 28th, 2007 at 8:23 pm
Correct me if I’m wrong, but about the burned hand, staking someone is pretty hard if you have to go through ribcage/etc to reach the heart. SHe probably used both hands, so they both got burnt.
Or at least thats my theory xD
Can’t waiiit for next page! Hopefully we get to see more of Devian!
November 28th, 2007 at 8:23 pm
Just gotta say, kick ASS.
It’s not a retreat. It’s a strategic advancement in the opposite direction!
November 28th, 2007 at 8:25 pm
“Am i the only one that was thinking dang that zombie went mike tyson on that guy the second they seen that comic?”
DUDE!! I totally thought that! As soon as I saw the ear I went “Woah oh looks like Mike Tyson was zombified.”
November 28th, 2007 at 8:25 pm
Dude, I seriously hope that other person is Big Black Vampire carrying Mac…
November 28th, 2007 at 8:35 pm
I feel bad for the zombies in the armor. Now they’ll move slow and have trouble biting under all that stuff. Without Francis they’re just to dumb to take it off.
November 28th, 2007 at 8:38 pm
Ok, next post in ….?
Sorry, but this stuff is just that good!
November 28th, 2007 at 8:41 pm
so are the rest of the worlds population turned into zombies on the other side of the building or did TFZ just bring a few thousand with him
November 28th, 2007 at 8:42 pm
“How dead is TFZ?”
100% dead, never to return, except for in prequels.
New page hopefully within 24 hours. Haven’t finished writing it yet, blah, will do so in under 90 minutes hopefully.
wedge: Other side of building, millions. Addison draws this on a chalkboard earlier and they explain how 3,000 are coming from the opposite direction of the millions.
November 28th, 2007 at 8:42 pm
“I feel bad for the zombies in the armor. Now they’ll move slow and have trouble biting under all that stuff. Without Francis they’re just to dumb to take it off. ”
Wow, you actually feel bad for the zombies because they can’t bite people as easily?
I mean, I can understand a person feeling bad for a zombie because of their poor fate, but to feel bad for a zombie because it can’t make more zombies… and I thought I was dissappointed in humanity.
Great page Owen and Bobby. I was wondering how fast the zombies would go berserk. I’m thankful for your paint drawing, I thought the poor soul who lost his ear was Math for a bit.
I can’t help but feel sorry for the humans left, I mean, more than just being the last humans left in the world, but because they watch the Vampires fight Zombies galore with a sliver of hope, and then they’re captured. The Zombies then attack, but stop again after April cries out, now they’re all attacking again. It’s impossible to get commitment from Zombies these days.
November 28th, 2007 at 8:43 pm
i believe he brought a few million with him, wedge. to much time to fly the others in from around the world. and no need for all of them.
November 28th, 2007 at 9:22 pm
I have been in Last Blood withdrawl for days. THanks for the update.
November 28th, 2007 at 9:27 pm
“Correct me if I’m wrong, but about the burned hand, staking someone is pretty hard if you have to go through ribcage/etc to reach the heart. SHe probably used both hands, so they both got burnt.”
April benches 240lbs according to Bobby. (Not quite sure if this is sarcasm or not, but I digress.)
Anyway, she only used the one had as far as I can tell. It’d be too difficult to use both hands and if you look in the first panel, her left hand is unburned/unblistered.
November 28th, 2007 at 9:29 pm
Was a name for the black vampire ever decided on?
November 28th, 2007 at 9:30 pm
240 was a definite joke.
Name not decided.
November 28th, 2007 at 9:32 pm
never post when the page is being updated ….that said try try again … flash fried sticky skin …. i hope the wlb’s fangs didn’t scrape her skin there … those armored zombies can be jokingly called the clank brigade due to the fact that they can never take that armor off … stories to keep little girls and boys suitably scared of the things that go clank in the night … the last human in the room gets to have a brief but heroic last stand in the window there …
November 28th, 2007 at 9:40 pm
I see Bobby has found the Mike Tyson of zombies ^_^
November 28th, 2007 at 9:44 pm
lol we need a comic about hwo it feels to be a zombie.
like i mean the mindset.
we never see that…
like…
“oh im just your normal guy..hey why does that rotting corpse keep running towards me?
Oh Damn!! he bit me!! ahh!…
I want brains”
November 28th, 2007 at 9:50 pm
This is going to be interesting.
November 28th, 2007 at 9:52 pm
for the guy who wants a comic about being a zombie check this http://www.hockeyzombie.com/comic/2007/11/28/
November 28th, 2007 at 9:55 pm
Poor Francis.
November 28th, 2007 at 10:00 pm
Hey Bobby. Any chance of you going to Comic-Con this year? Don’t know where you’re located so yeah.
November 28th, 2007 at 10:01 pm
I’m in Los Angeles and I’ll be at the Blatant Comics booth all four days selling “Last Blood” and “Marry Me” graphic novels, among other things. Hopefully Owen will be able to attend as well. I first went to Comic-Con in ‘94. Haven’t been there since ‘02.
November 28th, 2007 at 10:02 pm
I love Devian, and the facial expressions she is given.
November 28th, 2007 at 10:10 pm
Seriously? Now I have to go for sure.
November 28th, 2007 at 10:22 pm
“Listen to Cat, she knows what she’s talking about. The STAKE gets extremely hot.”
I already know that the stake gets extremely hot. I was just guessing that the stake gets hot because the vampire’s body heats it up. I should have explained what I was trying to say a little more, I suppose. I definitely should have been clearer.
November 28th, 2007 at 10:23 pm
What happened to April? It looks like she got the TFZ good. Did he injure her?
November 28th, 2007 at 10:26 pm
Hi everyone. Wrong burnt hand was my bad and I’ll fix it as soon as i figure out the easiest way to do so. I still need to do my fixes on the page before this one. Glad everyone is enjoying it though. It’s too tiny to see, but the vamp I drew in the last panel is old school punk Bill with two humans slung over his shoulders.
November 28th, 2007 at 10:36 pm
That page just took my breath away I LOVE THIS COMIC.
November 28th, 2007 at 10:37 pm
@ravenofpoe
Good to know that someone else reads hockeyzombie, LOL
Great page as usual
November 28th, 2007 at 10:53 pm
Oh, awesome! I was so excited when I saw the next page.
And, yes, Anko, I’m going to be typical and say ouch for the ear being ripped off on the second panel! That looks stinkin’ painful and I completely agree with Bobby, I hope I never get my ear bitten off by a zombie.
Amazing art, Owen, I love it. Can’t wait to see what else happens!
November 28th, 2007 at 10:58 pm
I just have to say OUCH as well to the ear-biting thing. Owen, I love your limb-ripping art! You MAKE it look painful, great stuff! Oh by the way, has April been bitten now? Or infected at the least? Or is her hand just burned?
November 28th, 2007 at 11:14 pm
wow I didn’t expect TFZ to die like that, I thought he would notice or something. So all they have to do is keep the humans alive, to bad april didn’t kill TFZ before he killed the other vamps
November 28th, 2007 at 11:34 pm
Totally unawsome if the kids have had their faces cut with glass from the broken window.
I kinda hoped that zombahz will take some moment to realize their out of control… a couple of seconds of confusion, like:
“Wait? Whats this? Am I dead… oh dear……. ………. BRAINZZZZ”
That would give the Vamps a fighting chance and humans would have some time to hide behind they’re back (except for Mac and Grady ofcourse, cause they deliver quite a punch on zombie heads).
November 28th, 2007 at 11:48 pm
Nice detail with that burned hand. Waiting for another page ;o)
November 28th, 2007 at 11:51 pm
it sucks to have survived this far into the story only to be turned into meat shields for characters with more screen time.
if i was in this story, i would wear like an eyepatch or have some cool scars to look more distinctive because awesome characters tend to stay alive longer
November 29th, 2007 at 12:02 am
Fun page
Glad she pulled it off
November 29th, 2007 at 12:24 am
yo this is an awsome comic 1st time i commented…bobby great job keep up the work…and thanks to all of those people that was comented bout the burtn hand being inconsisted well i spent like half an hour looking at the past couple comics and well it is all consistent well she grabs the stake form her left arm then drives it in and when math picks her up while she nurse her right hand so yep yay
November 29th, 2007 at 1:04 am
Zarter: Owen corrected it and what you’re seeing now is the second version.
November 29th, 2007 at 2:31 am
Best page EVER! wow!
November 29th, 2007 at 2:44 am
I just stayed up until past 5:30 am reading this and catching up on MM. Bobby, you, Owen, and Eisu are awesome. I just thought I’d say that. The Francis twist is something I’d love in a vampire/zombie movie!
November 29th, 2007 at 2:53 am
…about the burnt hand detail - I read many comic books and as far as I know mistakes like this happen all the time.
Besides I know that some artists (G. Rosinski - the one that drew THORGAL) sometimes do these mistakes on purpose. Just to get the hardcore fans going like:
“Dude…. he cut of his right hand… and there is a left hand on the ground… you mixed the hands duuude…. plus the ring is on the other finger? how come its on the other……bla bla….”
stuff like this - I know you get the point.
And for the 100th time - thanks AGAIN to Bobby and Owen for awesome work on LB! Keep it up!
November 29th, 2007 at 2:56 am
cool page…nice details on the ear.
November 29th, 2007 at 2:59 am
MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACCCCCCCC!!!!!!! what about my baldy?!!?!?! AAACCCKKK!!! the suspense!!!
November 29th, 2007 at 3:44 am
just to be sure when the scheamic(or however you spell it) dies the zombies go nutzo right.
November 29th, 2007 at 3:57 am
Funny how hard it actually is to shove the stake into the heart from this angle. But ok it’s just a webcomic.
Rage is probably staying to demand the promised torture like a randy college student facing a canceled flight to Spring Break. LOL
November 29th, 2007 at 4:14 am
November 29th, 2007 at 5:08 am
Bobby “Don’t know, don’t care” Crosby has an attitude problem. Still a pretty good comic.
November 29th, 2007 at 5:10 am
It’s the correct hand - maybe Owen already fixed it.
November 29th, 2007 at 5:32 am
“just to be sure when the scheamic(or however you spell it) dies the zombies go nutzo right.”
Obviously. Now, repeat after me. S - C - H - A - E - M - I - A - C. Not that hard, is it? And easy way to remember is just keeping in mind it has 9 letters and it has two pairs of vowels: AE and IA.
November 29th, 2007 at 5:55 am
Somehow I cant imagine it being surprisingly hard to stab a pointed piece of wood through half rotten flesh? Try raise ya arm and hit as hard as ya can over your heart ( ofc you shouldnt do this if ya have a idea of you being stronger than average since this can knock ya heart out ) anyways.. if ya did.. feel the pain now? Now go find a steak or something and a stake… put onto the steak 3-5 pipes of wood/metal ( ribcage ).. close ya eyes and hammer the stake into it.. If ya somhow manage to NOT penetrate it.. I take my hat of for ya…
anyways… I wonder how many humans would be left now? and vamps for that matter..
splendid page.. apperantly just like all the others ofcause.. lolz..
November 29th, 2007 at 5:59 am
Long time reader, first time commenter.Lol. No, the burned hand is right. April is facing forward, so it looks like its her right hand, but its really the left hand!^^
November 29th, 2007 at 6:14 am
“Bobby ‘Don’t know, don’t care’ Crosby has an attitude problem.”
Anyone who DOES care who the third vampire and fourth human out the window are so much that they feel the need to instant message me about it, even though they know that I clearly read all the comments on this site and respond to most questions and even though that specific question was already asked multiple times, cares too much about the comic and/or is just annoying me on purpose.
Also, fuck you.
November 29th, 2007 at 7:23 am
i love this page. i hope grady lives, and some of the other humans because if its down the those few its going to be a tight cast.
November 29th, 2007 at 7:33 am
this page is awesome: it’s filled with hope and despair.
November 29th, 2007 at 7:42 am
Okay, I can’t believe I’m the only one who’s noticed this. Bobby says that there are millions approaching the school from the other side. The thousands came from this side then. The side where all the bodies were piled up against the school. … Um. What happened to all the bodies? ‘Cause I cannot believe that the survivors are running headlong into the millions…
November 29th, 2007 at 7:46 am
Ok. So our onscreen deathcount here is up to 6 humans (Murdo’s Mom, Jimmy, Mustache man, plus the three who’ve had their faces eaten in the last half-dozen comics. Am I missing any?) and 3 Vampires (the one who killed herself, Val, AFP). Oh, and Murdo converted. With I think it was 33 humans to start, and about 30 vampires, that means we’re left with about 27 each of humans and vampires, max, which after Murdo’s changeover is 26 human, 28 vamp. That’s not counting any human deaths which may have occurred offscreen in any of the last pile of comics. That number could just as easily be a lot lower. The minimum I can see would be 10 humans (check page 100, there are 6 children and a woman huddled in a corner, plus Grady, Mac, and April, and none of these have appeared to die yet).
So 10-27 humans. Does that sound about right Bobby?
November 29th, 2007 at 7:53 am
zombies + vampires = awesome. If you add a pirate vampire with an eye patch and an undead parrot, this movie will make BILLIONS.
November 29th, 2007 at 8:06 am
yeah u f**king tell em bobby. u complete my life with this web comic. and im sure tons of other people feel the same way. you guys keep up the great work man. screw all the haters. ill see u at next years comic con also.
November 29th, 2007 at 8:08 am
Nicely done, I especially like the third panel. Once again the expressions of the various characters really stand out.
November 29th, 2007 at 8:32 am
“April benches 240lbs according to Bobby. (Not quite sure if this is sarcasm or not, but I digress.)”
“240 was a definite joke.”
I somewhat figure, but whatev.
Anyway, sharpened stake would do damage to the cloth and flesh even (also could have gone between ribs, which is entirely possible) so this is believable. If you factor in again that the stake is SHARPENED and the adrenaline that must be pumping through April at the time, there’s absolutely no reason why she couldn’t have done it.
November 29th, 2007 at 8:47 am
Cat: And the fact that she was specifically trained in how to kill one. Not to mention the fact that smelly mcrotting face probably didn’t have very good bone density after half a century of undersea rotting.
November 29th, 2007 at 8:47 am
Whoo! I now dub Bobby as BDKDCC!
And in agreement with Cat: If an old granny can lift a small car due to the effects of adrenaline, I’m pretty sure April can put a stake through a scheamics rotting heart. And as for whoever is the third person jumping out the window? We’ll find out as soon as Bobby and Owen decide, probably next page as I doubt many people will survive from inside(except for maybe the vampires)
November 29th, 2007 at 9:33 am
I wonder what Sullivan’s plan is now that EFZ was just snuffed out
November 29th, 2007 at 9:36 am
Sorry - but I just had to comment on this:
monkeyboy Says:
“Bobby ‘Don’t know, don’t care’ Crosby has an attitude problem.â€
and Bobbys response:
“Anyone who DOES care who the third vampire and fourth human out the window (…) cares too much about the comic and/or is just annoying me on purpose. Also, fuck you. ”
LOL!
Oh boy… . For me, its totally irrelavent WHO the fuck 3rd vampire is. It doesnt matter for now. IF its important for the story, I am ready to bet 40$ Anko-style, that we will know it sooner or later. Taking care of his story, Bobby showed a proper attitude PLUS he made me laugh. Cheers for you Mr Crosby! Tonight I will drink my beer to honour the incoming 7 pages of Last Blood!
“Also, fuck you.” is just totally badassness AFP style. In my opinion ofcourse!
November 29th, 2007 at 9:46 am
Okay - first post I’ve ever made on here - Then again I’ve only known this site for 3 days and I’ve just finished reading it up to current…. and read about 1/3rd of the comments.
If I’m wrong, please correct me. I’m just basing it on a tally I’ve been keeping (not that I care about repopulation - what with 99.9999999483% of the human race wiped out already…. and billions of zombies still around, repopulation is not as immediate a concern as mere survival is for now. I think this is an awesome comic by the way and Bobby is a Romero-level zombie genre genius. And Owen’s artistic still blows my mind. It’s like he drew the pictures with ink distilled from liquid awesome.
Anyways… since it’s my first post, might as well be a long one.
At the point of the plane crash, I recall someone saying there were 31 vampires (in comments, not in the comic - was it Bobby or someone else?)
There were 33 humans left before the initial zombie attack where Jimmy and his mom and Murdo’s mom died. After the attack, there were 30 humans left - still 31 vampires. Then Murdo converted, and mustache man was killed. New tally = 32 vampires, 29 humans. One of the vampires stake themselves when Payne explains exactly what will happen to them. 31 vampires, 29 humans. Zombies capture the vampires and break into the holed up room where the humans are, killing 2 humans before Francis ’stops’ them temporarily so he can make his speech. Then he kills Val, and then Payne. New Tally = 29 vampires, 27 humans. April kills Francis and zombies go back to killing - 1 human is definitely being eaten (his/her ear). New Tally = 29 vampires, 26 humans.
So the latest tally is 29 vampires, 26 humans are the ‘max’ left (unless there were more than 31 vampires at the time of the plane crash, for example, 32-50?). Also, there may only be 29 vampires and 25 humans left if the bearded guy who yelled ‘RUN!’ to the children gets bitten (which seems likely since one of the armored zombies has him grabbed).
There are at least 5 humans and 3 vampires who are ‘clear’ of the room so far. Devian with the two smallest kids (which is what AFP had told her to do that she didn’t obey the first time), Math holding April, and (according to Owen, the punk vampire Bill holding 2 humans slung over his shoulders) It doesn’t seem likely that Mac has gone yet (seems like the sort of guy who will ‘cover’ the others fleeing with the vampires until the last moment (he was the only human to ‘hold the line’ with the vampires after all), so he’s probably not clear yet. Also, a lot of the vampires who came out of the plane have not been seen on scene since, so not sure how many of them are dead, but it seems like, based on Francis’s plan, none of them would have died in the battle, since he wanted them captured and tortured instead (except for AFP, who he wanted dead, and Val, who he ’spared’ the torture by killing her instead).
So the latest tally is minimum 3 vampires (Devian, Math, Punk Bill), 5 humans (at least 2 of which are little children and 1 is April - at the point of the last panel, at least, assuming something even more catastrophic happens between the last panel and the first panel of the next page), maximum 29 vampires, 26 (more likely 25, unless a vampire or Mac saves bearded guy at the last second) humans.

Crosby does have an attitude, but it’s certainly not a problem!! Short and precise answers keeps business moving along nicely. A lot of online comic projects, or projects in general get derailed quickly due to soft attitudes. Crosby has been able to keep this cominc consistent and it seems that the end of this story arc is almost nearing it’s end. Keep up the good work man…
Can’t wait to see how this comic turns out…
November 29th, 2007 at 10:02 am
ha! I knew April’s hand was going to get burned
November 29th, 2007 at 10:17 am
Whatever happened to AFPs briefcase?
November 29th, 2007 at 10:19 am
Excellent comic!!! Yeah for Mac!
But I’d hate to be one of the poor humans left in the room as they are torn to pieces….
November 29th, 2007 at 10:19 am
So hold on… if the wooden stake is that hot wouldn’t it burst into flames?
November 29th, 2007 at 10:21 am
Is it just me or is the whole comic rendered pointless by the plot thus far? If indeed there are only 30 people left alive pre-slaughter, and there are now even less post-slaughter, there’s no way in hell they’re going to repopulate the Earth. So…why does it even matter what happens from here on out?
I guess some people find Nihilism poignant and fascinating. But in those circumstances, I struggle to find relevance.
November 29th, 2007 at 10:29 am
Mmmm, am i the only one who has teh feeling that what TFZ did was totally out of character ?
November 29th, 2007 at 10:34 am
I have no problem with April and the stake vs the spin/rib cage thing. Perhaps wooden stakes are like a hot knife to vampire butter. The HUMAN slahing through multiple steel chains with a single blow is a bit harder to swallow. I didn’t have a problem with Val doing it since she was strong enough to break them without any weapon at all. Perhaps Murdo should be doing it instead. He is unchained I think right now and he had the axe last. On the other hand, this would be a cool scene for your friend.
Great page, BTW.
November 29th, 2007 at 10:36 am
err slahing = slashing
November 29th, 2007 at 10:36 am
“Also, fuck you.”
I love the attitude. Also really glad to see him ded. The tfz was a whine ass
November 29th, 2007 at 10:50 am
“So hold on… if the wooden stake is that hot wouldn’t it burst into flames?”
No.
November 29th, 2007 at 11:04 am
Maybe when you stake a vampire, the the life force (unlife force?) releases from the vampire, which manifests itself as heat, like an ‘aura’ of heat on the stake’s surface. I dunno. A smoldering stake that someone’s just taken out of the fire and is already burnt but no longer on fire will also scald your hand, so just because a stake is hot doesn’t mean it necessarily has to be on fire. Plus, it’s being used to stake a vampire/zombie…. and people are arguing about the proper physics behind it?
November 29th, 2007 at 11:12 am
Yeah, about the hot stake not bursting into flames, just hold some wood in a fire for awhile–say it does catch, but isn’t really damaged, then you put it out. That wood will still be holding a tremendous amount of heat, and won’t be on fire (anymore). You could totally melt flesh off with that.
November 29th, 2007 at 11:18 am
One can only assume that the release of energy that causes the heat is the same energy that was keeping the undead subject in a life like state in the first place. That could work into an explanation of why only stakes kill vampires, the limbs of plants are made to channel things that keep the tree alive. supposing that they are transmitting a type of energy other than heat out of the vampire, it might not become heat until it leaves the stake, so that could explain it’s rapid conduction though wood. AFP would probably know how it really but i guess he can’t explain it now. But would you really want him to? it would be like a science textbook except about stuff that doesn’t really exist.
November 29th, 2007 at 11:19 am
Discussing real world physics vs a fantasy world tale that is completely run by the one telling the story. I wonder if George Lucas faced that with Star Wars.
“You know, that whole Death Star thing looked neat but it never would have worked because of ((insert x,y,z)). And those T.I.E. fighters? Don’t even get me started on those things.”
“If a Wookie shaved, would he look human?”
“Since the Jawas are so short, there is no way they would ever build a droid transport that big. But in the movie they did and there was like no ladders shown inside or anything.”
“How does a Jedi master sense another one? Do some sense further than others? If so does that mean that Obi Wan was the better sensor when compared to Darth Vader?”

November 29th, 2007 at 11:48 am
I do not know why it posted twice sorry about that.
November 29th, 2007 at 11:55 am
whenever people say “don’t get me started” it’s already too late.
November 29th, 2007 at 12:02 pm
This page has a 3-way sequel potential. One being the flyer has a male/female combo to start over with, two they save a few humans and the fight goes on, three April gets a surprise from killing the first zombie. I read before that tfz was a combo spirit/zombie/vampire so I wouldn’t be surprised if his essence went into her.

Ha, I go to bed at various times and then wake up at midnight followed by 3 AM or so. Or I go to bed insanely early and wake up at 2 AM and start my day there. Depends on my mood. But my sleep patterns are totally dominated by Last Blood. And maybe you saw the page with no comments, but if you check the fine print I posted my post the exact minute as the page went up. That’s because I only had to paste in the post I wrote ages before the page went up. So you would have had to write out your post and it would have been too late.
So yeah, I plan my first posts with precision.
Also, I calculate a 76% chance of me not getting the first post on the next page. If I’m proven wrong I’ll be pleasantly surprised.

why did you just kill WLB off so easily?he was so fun! he even killed off Val!
why did you have to kill off the person that killed Val?
anyways, nice comic. I can’t wait to see the next one

More like he’s Bobby “Doesn’t know why people who got a free comic have to be asses, doesn’t care to take crap from idiots who don’t realize that he already did them a favor” Crosby.
November 29th, 2007 at 1:51 pm
Let’s just settle on Bobby Fucking Crosby, shall we? In honor of the late AFP?
November 29th, 2007 at 2:18 pm
umm anko the only reason i asked was to make sure that the zombies werent given a last second command to go nutzo.
November 29th, 2007 at 3:20 pm
Everyone keeps talking about a movie what movie??? btw when tfz dies, he looks like he is biting april… oh well love the comic!
November 29th, 2007 at 3:24 pm
Err…I expected something more…epic. WLB’s death is Lame, dude
November 29th, 2007 at 3:29 pm
Rez, the “time” is running out on the 4th LB issue, some of the story is (and has been) getting compressed since there are only a few pages left. Will be a *lot* better in a movie, I’d bet on that one.
November 29th, 2007 at 3:36 pm
my one rule of thumb with most vampire and zombie movies is never try to use science to explain it. come on people, that brought us the blade trilogy, and do we really want that for last blood?
November 29th, 2007 at 3:44 pm
it’s a shame it has to get compressed. i was expecting a more epic death to wlb but it’s understandable that he has to make cuts to fit a schedule. hell this may be the way it was intended to be. either way there is still more story to see and i don’t expect to be disappointed in the least.
November 29th, 2007 at 4:23 pm
Anko - you just made up an ultimate weapon for Bobby in an arguement people-writing-comments vs Last-Blood-world.
I love it as much as I loved AFP attitude:
” - Bobby? Why didnt the stake burst into flames?
- It just didnt.
- but why?
- Because Im BFC!!”
LOL
November 29th, 2007 at 4:34 pm
…Are we gonna see a huge zombie fight between Sullivan’s zombies and Francis’ zombies? That would be freakin’ awesome beyond words.
(And I am going to stare at my computer screen without blinking until the new post comes. No joke. Haven’t blinked once. Damn, just blinked. Well, I’m gonna keep on staring anyway.)
OoooOOOOOoooooH this is the highlight of my day! Total awesomeness!
November 29th, 2007 at 4:35 pm
Anko, how could you have written a post “ages ago,” rife with references to this current page’s content? That doesn’t make sense even if you are receiving IMs from Bobby with the update schedule, as you recently suggested on the Marry Me comments page. I don’t even know why I’m curious…
Secondly, why do you always seem so frustrated with your fellow fans, like with the poor bloke who misspelled “schaemiac” (even adding a warning that he was likely to do so)? Yes, a handful of people know that you’ve already corrected many a hapless poster on that very spelling, but folks aren’t obliged to read your hundreds of comments before posting. I think it’s great that you’re so enthusiastic about the comic, but is an online forum really the best place to insist upon proper spelling of neologisms? Many readers (such as myself) aren’t even native English speakers.
Anyway, thanks for another great page, guys! Greetings from France!
–Avram
November 29th, 2007 at 4:40 pm
And #3 out the window is (maybe) a zombie…
That would be funny.
Except I hope that there are SOME human survivors, namely Mac and Grady. I will be sad if they die.
*Starts crying already, since she’s such an incurable pessimist.*
November 29th, 2007 at 4:44 pm
I wonder what happens when the Big Fat Apron Vampire hits the ground. Maybe he’ll just eat the zombies.
Anyways, the idea that wood doesn’t get white-hot is correct but maybe the wood has to be enchanted or a special kind of wood. That kidn of visualization is more appealing, if somewhat scientifically apocraphal.
November 29th, 2007 at 5:09 pm
Epic page Bobby, and good job on the expressions to Owen. I cannot wait for the next one, you guys have really got me squirming on the edge of my seat for the next one.
November 29th, 2007 at 5:18 pm
DeeJaye6: Almost everything you said was confusing. Not sure what you mean. To simplify it: The humans and vamps are obviously jumping out of the opposite side of the building from where the giant pile of tons of zombies is. They’re running towards the direction where the 3,000 mentioned earlier are coming from, with the millions of zombies at the backs of the running humans/vamps. The humans/vamps currently see NOTHING in front of them, open space, but uh oh, what’s that coming over the hill? 3,000 zombies?
“With I think it was 33 humans to start”
34 to start including Mac.
“and about 30 vampires”
The comic itself, which is all that matters, has never even come close to saying how many vampires there are. The maximum is simply however many can fit on that large plane. I’ve said various things in comments, some conflicting things too, about how many there are. As far as I know right now, there COULD be over 100 vampires.
“So 10-27 humans. Does that sound about right Bobby?”
There are at least 24 humans alive as of Page 106.
“We’ll find out as soon as Bobby and Owen decide, probably next page as I doubt many people will survive from inside(except for maybe the vampires)”
The comic will never show who that third group out the window was, because who gives a shit? They’re ALL coming out, all the survivors at least, which is almost everyone (obviously all vampires, and, as you’ll see by the end, vast majority of the humans). Owen already said who that third group was, though, on this comments page.
“I wonder what Sullivan’s plan is now that EFZ was just snuffed out”
Preserving humanity is the only goal.
“So hold on… if the wooden stake is that hot wouldn’t it burst into flames?”
I already said that would probably happen in the movie. Tougher to properly do such a thing in the comic when there are more important things to highlight which the fire would obscure.
“So…why does it even matter what happens from here on out?”
Yeah, there’s no point whatsoever in not allowing EVERY SINGLE HUMAN to be killed or zombified by a whiny little bitch, right? I mean, why should it matter if the last humans on Earth, including all those little children, are able to fight for their freedom and live out their lives as opposed to being eaten by zombies right now? Ugh, hate people who think like you. Also, don’t forget Addison’s case, and blah blah blah.
“Perhaps Murdo should be doing it instead. He is unchained I think right now”
Why the hell would people think Murdo is unchained? No clue as to that. Obviously they re-chained him ten-fold after he escaped. And you apparently haven’t noticed that Mac is super human and has cut off three heads with one stroke of an axe multiple times. It would be fake if a guy like that COULDN’T cut through tons of chains.
“Where are all the zombies gonne I mean common they cant feet all in that school about few millions so where are they?????”
Uh, waiting outside obviously. And now they’re running for the humans as well since they lost their connection to TFZ. Maybe try waiting and reading the rest of the story. It seems like at least 53% of the comments on this site are made by people who for some reason assume that there will NEVER BE ANOTHER PAGE and that the story is OVER.
“Are we gonna see a huge zombie fight between Sullivan’s zombies and Francis’ zombies? That would be freakin’ awesome beyond words.”
You will in the movie at least — hardly any time for it (like practically none) in the comic.
November 29th, 2007 at 6:27 pm
” Are we gonna see a huge zombie fight between Sullivan’s zombies and Francis’ zombies? That would be freakin’ awesome beyond words.â€
You will in the movie at least — hardly any time for it (like practically none) in the comic.”
AWESOME!!! I WOULD SELL A KIDNEY TO SEE THAT!!! =D
November 29th, 2007 at 6:47 pm
Mike Tyson would make a kick ass zombie, the only way hed turn humans is biting them in the ear
November 29th, 2007 at 6:54 pm
My speculation…
We know the case contains the curse for vampirism. So, I’m guessing, some vamps become human in order to help stabilize the gene pool. Looks like there’s some good diversity there.
I love the zombies biting faces, it just looks so intimate and wrong.
November 29th, 2007 at 7:10 pm
Very long reply to Avram’s post:
“Anko, how could you have written a post “ages ago,†rife with references to this current page’s content? That doesn’t make sense even if you are receiving IMs from Bobby with the update schedule, as you recently suggested on the Marry Me comments page.”
It does make sense. The pages go online before it’s publicly posted, and I check the page directory often. I can get the new page about two hours before it’s up if I’m lucky. Also, being #1 fan has benefits once in a while, Bobby sent me the sketch in advance a few times now.
“Secondly, why do you always seem so frustrated with your fellow fans, like with the poor bloke who misspelled “schaemiac†(even adding a warning that he was likely to do so)?”
People who bother to put a warning that they might have spelled a word wrong really could double-check. To spare the guy the trouble of clicking two links to get to the archive where you can see the name of a page with the title “The Schaemiac” I decided to make his life easier and also attract the attention of other people who can’t spell by very clearly outlining how to spell the word. My effort was half humorous, half extremely frustrated.
“Yes, a handful of people know that you’ve already corrected many a hapless poster on that very spelling, but folks aren’t obliged to read your hundreds of comments before posting.”
My view on this is if you post on the comments, you should read them. People who don’t read them, or read them and don’t remember anything, shouldn’t be pitied when being picked on by other people. Also, reading the comic helps. I had no problem memorizing the word after one read-through. I still DOUBLE CHECKED on Google the first few times I posted anything with the word so I wouldn’t end up looking like a lazy illiterate person.
“I think it’s great that you’re so enthusiastic about the comic, but is an online forum really the best place to insist upon proper spelling of neologisms?”
Yes, I do. I believe that literacy is one of the ways of recognizing an intelligent person on the internet. Go on, hate me for it if you like.
“Many readers (such as myself) aren’t even native English speakers.”
I’m not a native English speaker either, and I’m only 15 years old. I’m Anko Fucking Wagner. Also, ever heard of spell-checking software?
November 29th, 2007 at 7:15 pm
Anko, on the list of badasses, you’re probably about number 2 .
Number One is AFP of course.Your dedication to this series and you’re help to new readers is invaluable. People who mess with you or bitch about you deserve to be cyber-bitch slapped.
November 29th, 2007 at 7:23 pm
OK sorry for the double post, but this had me thinking, and its about vamps in general, not a specific page, so i wouldn’t really no where to look in the comments. If its been asked, i am sincerly sorry.
Alright…vampire don’t age, that I know, i.e LBV (little black vampire). But its been said that vampires can be born, i. e AFP and Devian. How did they age? Do they just get to a certain point and stop, or do they have rapid growth or what?
Its not that big of a deal, but I’m just totally OCD about weird little details like that.
-c.a
November 29th, 2007 at 7:40 pm
Crazy Artist: I’ve answered that in the comments no less than 10 times, about once per page in the past 10 pages or so. Age to a certain point and stop, yes.
November 29th, 2007 at 7:45 pm
I believe that you would have to list Mac number 3 on the list of badasses. I mean, not only does he cut three zombies heads off in one axe swipe, but he cuts through chain with the same ease.
November 29th, 2007 at 7:52 pm
Nice fix there, Owen, but… why not just flip the panel? It would still be consistant, you couldn’t really see their positions before and people are running all over the place. Then all that would need doing would be a little rescripting. Wich I know is hard, but gotta be easier than redoing a part of an already drawn picture. (or maybe not, I don’t know worth shit, just assuming.)
November 29th, 2007 at 7:56 pm
First off, thanks Bobby.
alright we’re gonna rank badassery
TOP 5 BADASS HUMANS
1. Anko
2. Mac
3. Jimmy (b4 zombification)
4. Murdo (b4 vampifirication)
5. Grady
TOP 5 BADASS VAMPIRES (some of these will probably be contested):
1. Addison Fucking Payne.
2. Matheson (he killed Hitler for fuck’s sake!)
3. Rage
4. LBV (Little Black Vampire)
5. Val or Murdo, its a tie.
TOP 5 BADASS ZOMBIES
1. Any zombie that managed to chain AFP. You have to be pretty badass to do that.
2. Bob Barker zombie - you know he’s out there somewhere.
3. WLB - only listed here b/c he did kinda take over the world there for a minute, despite how bitch his motives may be.
4. Jimmy (After zombification) - a badass in life is a badass in death.
5. Undecided - i’m leaving the place for Sullivan, but we haven’t seen him yet so i can’t make a judgement.
November 29th, 2007 at 7:59 pm
WLB is a schaemiac, not a zombie. You are forgetting Chuck Norris Zombie!!!
November 29th, 2007 at 8:01 pm
I know WLB and Sullivan are schaemiacs, not zombies, but they needed a little recognition, and I wasn’t gonna make a top 5 schaemiacs list cuz there has only been 3 |:(
And I thought about Chuck….but eh, I don’t see him as a zombie. He just covered his scent and is waiting for the right moment to save everything.
November 29th, 2007 at 8:02 pm
Bob Barker zombie?! That’s hilarious, I could imagine him still standing there with his pencil-thin microphone all zombified.
November 29th, 2007 at 8:09 pm
So. Aprils crying out because she burnt herself? And she hasnt managed to stab herself through him too right?
November 29th, 2007 at 8:12 pm
“So. Aprils crying out because she burnt herself? And she hasnt managed to stab herself through him too right?”
No, April’s crying out because she lost the TFZ who was her secret lover.
….YES she’s crying because she burnt herself. Wouldn’t you if all the flesh on your hand just melted/blistered?
And if there’s no blood on her shirt when we see her, I’m guessing no to the second part.
November 29th, 2007 at 8:33 pm
Just wanted to pop in and say how much I love this comic, great work. I gather Bobby plays a role so great job with the story. Can’t wait to see Grady again, love that old guy.
Anyway, I’m kind of interested in the whole filming industry, and I would like to know if you accept volunteers, just for any extra help, because I think that the opportunity to see how independent films are made would be great.
Thanks,
Sam
November 29th, 2007 at 8:35 pm
I agree with Anko on his spelling comments. I know I don’t have the best of spelling, but if I think I’m spelling something wrong I check it! And criticism is a good teaching tool (within limits).
November 29th, 2007 at 8:41 pm
is anybody else reminded of the song i just died in your arms tonight
November 29th, 2007 at 8:43 pm
Flipping comic art panels doesn’t always work, thats the reason why most Manga translations nowadays are in the original backwards format. In this case I held a mirror up to the screen, and it does look and flow better with the original layout (or at least it does to my mind).
Congrats again to Bobby and Owen for bringing us such a unique and engrossing tale.
November 29th, 2007 at 9:00 pm
i meant was she crying cause she stabbed herself. -.-
November 29th, 2007 at 9:00 pm
Been readin this comic for quite some time, and I must say, I’ve been impressed at every turn.
Being something of an artist I can really appreciate Owen’s skill at drawing, especially since he managed to capture April burning her hand so well. It even looks like melted bits of skin coming away with it from the stake in the first panel.
Hats off as well to Bobby for coming up with a very interesting story, which seems to constantly change from serious to silly in the perfect times and ways. (Example: Grady playing basketball with the zombies heads after quite a few somewhat important deaths.)
Congrats on you two now, and ahead of time, seeing as how I cannot imagine how this will not make it to the theaters. Take care.
November 29th, 2007 at 9:09 pm
She didn’t stab herself.. The stake sizzled in her grasp, burning her.
November 29th, 2007 at 9:14 pm
I volunteer to be a mindless zombie for the movie! I will work for cheap!
November 29th, 2007 at 9:32 pm
This might be a little late, but I noticed you had said you still didn’t have a name for the big, black vampire. Dunno if you’ve updated that or not, and if you did I missed the comment and apologize in advance, but…
I recommend the name “Ajax” because he seems to be very strong — especially in the 4th and 5th panel. And he looks like an older version of a character in one of my comics, who is also called Ajax.
=D Just some input.

Please post soon, so I can go to bed…
Because
1) I’m not turning my computer off until there’s a post, and I have to get up @ five tmm.
and
2) I really need to see more of this story. Seriously.
I’m gonna try to snag the first post! Just kidding, I’ll probably fall asleep sitting here, drool on the keyboard, and totally ruin it. OK, so forget about the first post thing. I’ll just be sitting here, waiting… *sighs*

“TOP 5 BADASS HUMANS
1. Anko
2. Mac”
Wow, that’s strange, I just had a very confusing dream about Mac being all badass. Ha.
Anyways, I’m flattered to make it on your list, Crazy Artist.

I feel kinda confused. As a Fire Protection Engineering major I had trouble wrapping my head around this one. If she sustained a burn in less than a couple seconds, first degree from what it appears, the wood would have had to been near combustion temperatures, which means the primary source, TFZ, would had to have been reeeeally hot, as woods thermal coefficient is not that high (meaning it doesn’t conduct heat as well as say a metal) , and the wood would have likely combusted, not to mention she would have probably had burns from TFZ, if what I’ve been reading about vamps being really hot when staked. I hate to be that one guy who is like, ‘har har! it doesn’t make sense!’, but I want to make sure that if willing suspension of disbelief should take hold (yeah yeah, zombies and vamps, hehe, but laws of physics.) that I should expect that kind of thing from here out. Actually probably just ignore this Mr. Crosby, as it might just make you upset, which was not my goal.

For those who said April’s burnt hand is inconsistent it really isn’t. She burned her right hand from TFZ in panel 1 and in panel 5 she’s holding her right hand (careful inspection shows that it’s really the burnt one!) No inconsistency!

That’s because Owen updated the page. It was originally her left hand that she was holding before, then he fixed it after it was brought to his attention that it was an inconsistency.

——————–
Gotcha. I thought the side with the pile of bodies was from the 3000 side and that the millions were coming from the other side. And since I could not imagine our survivors choosing to escape toward the millions, I thought they’d be jumping out back toward the thousands they already had culled a bit. The fact that the point of view in the last two panels still has the building on the right of the panels does add to that confusion. Fortunately, your answer sets me straight. Thanks!

“I thought the side with the pile of bodies was from the 3000 side and that the millions were coming from the other side.”
Page 84 says the opposite of that. Millions coming from the East, 3,000 coming from the West. But what you just said is still very confusing. I could ask 10 questions about it and I still probably won’t understand what you’re trying to say. Are you saying you think the pile is made up of those 3,000 zombies mentioned on Page 84? Or are you saying the millions of zombies strangely went up past the school for a half mile and then turned around so they’re now coming towards the school at the same angle as the 3,000 or what? Either way, there was zero reason for you to think what you thought.

“And I thought about Chuck….but eh, I don’t see him as a zombie. He just covered his scent and is waiting for the right moment to save everything.”
LOL!
Chuck is going to repopulate the earth - by himself… but dont ask me how… I dont know! Go ask Chuck =P

Ugh, if I hear one more Chuck Norris joke, I swear that *I* am going to start biting ears off…

Rez: “Err…I expected something more…epic. WLB’s death is Lame, dude”
UM, DUH
He was a Whiney Little Bitch, who thought he was all that cause he zombified the planet. He deserves a lame death. Also, dramatic death sequences are overdone. Mad props to Bobby for challenging the norm in many ways!
Also, screw physics. I personaly think that having the stake get hot is a really good idea. And i don’t see why people should argue over the stake being hot when they dont’ argue over vampires surviving swords and bullets and not stakes.
Final point: Kick ass page, as usual.
November 30th, 2007 at 2:09 am
Though i love the story, I’m still a little irked by the whole “middle frame missing” deaths that have happend. What i mean is: Has someone about to be killed, then just has them killed, no panel showing the stake flying through the air, or piercing vampire chest. Like with Addisson and Francis: Has addissons chest being exposed, then just has him dead, no Moment-Of-Impact shot. Same the Franky boy
November 30th, 2007 at 2:10 am
Not to nitpick here but how can a stake made out of wood go white hot and never burst into flames somewhere in between? I mean wood cant even go red hod without going into flames. Sorry it was just botherin me. Other than that another awesome page =D
November 30th, 2007 at 2:15 am
First time posting a comment even though I’ve been reading this comic for while (Last Blood = LOVE, btw)
In any case I’ve got a question and I’m hoping nobody else has asked it because repetitive questions (especially ones that have been answered) annoy me. At the very least I didn’t notice my question in the first hundred or so comments.
Now enough with my babbling and onto the question. Why is Math yelling “April, no!” Is it because he didn’t want her to kill the WLB and thus sicking the zombies on everybody, or because he was upset about her getting hurt?
(Completely random note: Today’s my 20th birthday!
Yay for me!)
November 30th, 2007 at 2:16 am
Also, sorry for the double post, but i really think Bobby and Owen should be on the list of badass humans. Anko is indeed awesome, but really i think the initial creators are more worthy than the number one fan. No offence Anko, you rock too.
November 30th, 2007 at 2:19 am
Paint me a retard if I’m wrong, but she IS nursing her right hand…
as far as wood nor bursting into flames, it IS sticking out of a dying ex-vampire zombie. Who know what could happen to it. If it burst into a caolorful flash of butterflies who would we be to say any different?
November 30th, 2007 at 2:59 am
I just had to say Crazy Artist’s lists cracked me up. I completely agree with ‘em! Anko, you are BA, but Bobby and Owen are, too, so at least honorary mentions, eh?
Also, Yojimbonz, if you noticed some of the other posts, Owen made a correction after the initial posting of the page. Originally April was nursing her LEFT hand, but Owen made the fix after people pointed it out, so no harm done.
And I totally agree with Nara, where’s our baldy Mac? He has to be alive. No offense, Bobby and Owen, but if he ends up a zombie I WILL FIND YOU AND HURT YOU!!! Just saying. ^^
November 30th, 2007 at 3:05 am
Oh, and to add to that, I REALLY hope April wasn’t bitten there. Or even scratched, for that matter. That means she’ll be walking dead (not in a good way like our vamp sort-of-heroes) within 24 hours. O_O
November 30th, 2007 at 3:37 am
Linda: Has nothing to do with a burnt hand, of course. It’s because he thinks her decision to kill Francis will result in the nearly immediate death of all the humans, even though it will be of course saving all the vampires. Luckily Math was wrong about that, though, mostly thanks to some quick axe work from Mac. Well, not “mostly” — mostly because of Sullivan Davis, as you’ll see.

Ok, 1st time for me here.
1. nice story. nice drawings. truism.
2. jumping direction thing. imagine yourselves in the vamps/humans place. you have bunch of brain hungry zombies on your back, going to eat you alive any second, and you will stop and wonder which window to choose to jump out through? I wouldn’t. Instead, i’ll just pick the NEAREST one. And then, if it turns out that the direction is not as right as i would like, i’d just run around the building i get the hell out of there (yeah, like it is anywhere to run to).
But anyway, it’s not that important, cause correct me if i’m wrong, but were there ANY choice they could make in the “window case”? I mean, they were in a room where the humans were before the vamps were chained. and what do we see in panel 1 of page 96? Whats that by the window if it isn’t the pile of Zs? But of course, the room may have windows directed east and west as well. I don’t know how in States, but here in Poland classrooms usually don’t have oposit walls with windows, the glass is on one wall. Well, on two if it’s a room in the corner of the building. So anyway, my quess is EAST. But as well it might be any
3. I thought that the guy that lost his ear was Math. You know, the hairdoo.
4. I bet the kids names are Adam and Eve ;D
Also, hug you!

“But anyway, it’s not that important, cause correct me if i’m wrong, but were there ANY choice they could make in the ‘window case’?”
Yes, tons of choices — windows all around.
“But of course, the room may have windows directed east and west as well. I don’t know how in States, but here in Poland classrooms usually don’t have oposit walls with windows, the glass is on one wall. Well, on two if it’s a room in the corner of the building.”
This isn’t a classrom — it’s the library, which takes up the entire third floor. How do you think dozens of vampires and dozens of humans and dozens of zombies fit inside this one room? They said multiple times that it’s the library, like on Page 89, as I recall. And you can see book shelves in various panels and that same poster with the owl as we saw earlier in the library when Math and April were there alone.
November 30th, 2007 at 4:56 am
The whole problem with the stake burning the hand thing, for me, has to do with personal experience. I’ve never met a vampire, so I’m willing to accept that a wooden stake will kill one and that a dead vamp or whatever lets off a bunch of heat.
On the other unsinged hand, I /have/ held on to many, many pieces of burning wood. The only time I got even a little burn was from spatter from boiling fire treatment off the end of a floorboard. (Irony in that somewhere.)
November 30th, 2007 at 5:22 am
“Yes, tons of choices — windows all around.”
I saw a few, but “all around”? but then again, even if so, part of the directions were full of zombies, so again - tons of choices? Ok, it does not matter that much

right, i forgot that. So, if it’s entire floor, then it is.
Anyway, next page and we see the jumped west, right?

Note to self: When faced with zombie leader, DO NOT impale leader in heart with stick. Only seems to make things worse….
December 9th, 2007 at 10:45 pm
does anyone realize how hard it is to stab someone’s heart through the BACK?! almost impossible for someone REALLY strong, and a REALLY strong implement! Unless we count Massive degeneration due to zombieness, April could never pull it off.

Good thing we’re obviously counting that, then. Just look at the guy, jeez.
