Sofia looks evil. Well, she is evil – only evil people would let vodka go to waste like that. Even if the vodka is terrible.
January 19th, 2008 at 5:42 pm
I’ve been reading for awhile and I’ve always wondered if I could get to the comment thing first. This is the closest I think I’ll ever get.
I like the comic by the way. I like it a lot.
January 19th, 2008 at 5:49 pm
But we all know she doesn’t do it. Is she still wanting whatever it is she’s looking for by the time of the first GN?
January 19th, 2008 at 6:01 pm
Having her eyes in green like that is an amazing touch.
That said, i want baddass AFP back
.
January 19th, 2008 at 6:10 pm
“But we all know she doesn’t do it.”
I wouldn’t be so sure about that.
January 19th, 2008 at 7:04 pm
I love your style of drawing. The characters always have movement and emotion in their faces… Tho, it appears you forgot to draw the green-eyed-lady’s ring!
January 19th, 2008 at 7:14 pm
what? she’s not happy in an incredibly deformed decayed body?
January 19th, 2008 at 7:38 pm
is she wanting the cure to vampirism that in the end AFP manages to create at the 11th hour? It would give one of those beautiful touches of “wanting to be normal”, if you know what I mean. AFP drinking so much because he can’t find it, her being willing to destroy humanity to get it.
January 19th, 2008 at 7:42 pm
Addison sure is attached to his vodka =p
No other comments till i see the next page ^_^
January 19th, 2008 at 8:06 pm
Mrh?
You have to play a certain game to understand that.
January 19th, 2008 at 8:12 pm
Batty Girl i think its in panel 5 on the hand grabbing the vodka bottle very faint but that might just be her finger gone kinda puffy.
now it seems pretty obvious that sofia wants a cure and i wonder if addison is playing a semi joke on her with his cure because it is for vampires and she needs a schaemiac cure, or maybe not, or maybe she wants something entirely different, like a decent glass of vodka
January 19th, 2008 at 9:07 pm
“Batty Girl i think its in panel 5 on the hand grabbing the vodka bottle”
No, the ring is on her left hand (but not seen on this page yet — Owen will correct that at some point in the future).
January 19th, 2008 at 9:33 pm
So, I think that we now have tangible proof (as in, “in-comic, don’t have to read the comments or the blog entry or even really have a brain” proof) that it wasn’t vodka in those bottles at the end of the last GN. But maybe Addison is just…testing.
“Well, maybe 1,478 bottles cures vampirism…no? Maybe 1,479.”
January 19th, 2008 at 10:10 pm
I take it she wants the cure?… Does it even work on Schaemiacs?
And if it’s not the cure, what’s she after?
January 19th, 2008 at 10:43 pm
Wow… forceful and angry.
I don’t think AFP is EVER that docile… she must be something scary.
January 19th, 2008 at 11:26 pm
I wonder what kind of fish they have in the vodka sea.
January 19th, 2008 at 11:35 pm
WHat how dare she touch AFP’s vodlka. She is clearly the incarnation of pure evil.
PS. I asume that Addison makes his own Vodlka and that is pretty fuckein badass
January 20th, 2008 at 12:42 am
Damn, she’s got a bite.
January 20th, 2008 at 1:44 am
I’m sure during the last comic Bobby said the cure for vampirism would not work on schaemiacs, numerous times actually. She might want a cure to being a first zombie, but this is not “the cure” from the last comic, which should be obvious since this is a flashback. Also, I’d say that it was not only clear, but blatantly obvious, that it was not vodka in the bottles at the end of the last GN. To think other wise would be beyond stupidity.

# Diego Nuñez Says:

Graagh! Barhah!
January 20th, 2008 at 2:17 am
Heh, I love how indignant AFP looks when she grabs the bottle from him.
January 20th, 2008 at 4:07 am
Ah yeah. I had meant to do the ring in photoshop but it was acting up and I was distracted. I’ll fix it soon as possible.
January 20th, 2008 at 6:34 am
Hrm I am wondering exactly what she wants. She seems to hate the body she’s got, but she’s spent all this time mastering her zombie skills. I have to wonder if she’s more looking for a way to cure the damage she took during her torture years. She really seems to enjoy the power, but covering herself up that much makes me think it’s more her body that’s making her upset.
January 20th, 2008 at 6:35 am
Also, nice touch Owen with the small bits of decay at the edge of her veil.
January 20th, 2008 at 8:30 am
wow, took me this long to realize that she’s the Bulgarian schaemiac.
January 20th, 2008 at 11:20 am
“I’m sure during the last comic Bobby said the cure for vampirism would not work on schaemiacs, numerous times actually. She might want a cure to being a first zombie, but this is not ‘the cure’ from the last comic, which should be obvious since this is a flashback.”
No, wrong, this is the cure from the last comic that she wants, and I don’t recall ever saying that it wouldn’t work on schaemiacs. If I did say that, I’ve since changed it. I know I said that it would be extremely stupid for Sullivan to take it, since his powers are needed to control his zombies and protect the humans, but I don’t think I said it wouldn’t work on him. And I don’t see why the fact that it’s a flashback would change anything.
January 20th, 2008 at 4:16 pm
!!!
I think AFP likes her–anybody else would have gotten painfully killed after something like that…
…and now we see why he decided to put the cure in vodka bottles…it literally was ‘whatever he had lying around’
Page four goes back to the present, right? That should be interesting.
I’m dying (no pun intended) to see which one of the human survivors got zombie-fied, even though I doubt it’ll come as early as page 4… (*It’s probably Grady though*)
January 20th, 2008 at 4:18 pm
“Page four goes back to the present, right?”
The end of Page 4 does. This scene’s not over just yet. You’ll also have another surprise that I won’t spoil at the end of Page 4.
January 20th, 2008 at 4:53 pm
For some reason the comic isn’t displaying for me. I’ve tried it with both Firefox and IE and neither will display it.
January 20th, 2008 at 5:00 pm
We’re switching to a new server, might have some problems over the next couple days before it’s all complete, but then the site will load faster and have less down time.
January 20th, 2008 at 8:26 pm
ah that explains why earlier today we lost page 3 for a while and the web adress was something like http://www.lastblood.blatantcomics.comicgenesis.com cause i was thinking what the hell?
January 20th, 2008 at 8:43 pm
Sofia wants some “Mrh?”.
Again, you must play the game to understand it.
Aaaaaaaaand: i think there might have been something brween Sofia and Addison F. payne
January 20th, 2008 at 10:45 pm
I’m glad the next series has begun. AFP has a RIDICULOUS alcohol tolerance. Half of one of those bottles and I’m running around taking my clothes off, lol.
I bet she’s red headed, they’re pretty good about grabbing stuff from you and breaking stuff in a fit of rage ^_^.
January 21st, 2008 at 5:42 am
If I recall correctly, Bobby did speak on the vampirism cure before in as far as how it would effect Schaemiacs. His official stance was “Probably wouldn’t work, but I’ll think about it.” Very up in the air about it. I’m just wondering, would it just turn her back into a vampire, or would it go so far as to make her human again? Or would the effect differ if the vampire was born vampyric instead of turned from a regular human later on?
January 21st, 2008 at 6:58 am
Considering how much he drinks, I have to wonder if the cure had a kick to it.
January 21st, 2008 at 7:03 am
i like how you can see just a hint of the decay around her eyes in the second panel, great work once again
January 21st, 2008 at 7:40 am
Kenny C.
AFP’s note from the first comic said “For those who were once human. One mouthful each. I’m pretty sure it works. AP”
So unless I’ve misunderstood your question I’d say; It won’t work on vampires born a vampire…
January 21st, 2008 at 9:04 am
Oh, man – I love her “bitch WHAT did you just say to me?” look (panel 4)…actually, I really like panel 2, too. And the shatter effect with the bottle is excellent as well ^.^
And lol at whoever said “Mrh?” here in the comments. xD
January 21st, 2008 at 9:08 am
“I’m just wondering, would it just turn her back into a vampire, or would it go so far as to make her human again?”
It would make her human again.
“Or would the effect differ if the vampire was born vampyric instead of turned from a regular human later on?”
Only works on those who were born human.

January 21st, 2008 at 6:17 pm
“I think your keeping me prisoner in this body in case another one comes along and you need me to save you” personally I don’t think she’s the Bulgarion shaemic I think she killed him… or at least helped… kinda like Sullivan did. She said she was the most beautiful women in the world … so she was vain and liked how she looked, probably liked being an immortal youthful vampire… my bet is Addison promised her a cure in return for her help against sahemic 12 century and now she’s come to collect.
January 21st, 2008 at 7:44 pm
Um…I think it’s pretty clear that she is the Bulgarian schaemic. One, I think Bobby’s said that she is in the comments at least once, and two, if he hasn’t, it’s pretty obvious that she is the Bulgarian schaemic from her line “Nothing would stop me this time.” We know there was a zombie outbreak before in Bulgaria. If she wasn’t the schaemic from back then, that comment from her wouldn’t make any sense.
Also, she never said she was the most beautiful woman in the world. I’m not quite sure where you got that from, unless you were talking about Bobby’s comment in the MS Paint sketch for this page.
I do, however, agree, that Addison probably at some point said he would find a cure for vampirism, probably for her, and she’s pissed that he doesn’t have it.
Of course, we could be all wrong and she might really want some cake or something because as we all know, cake makes everything better…except when the cake is a lie.
January 21st, 2008 at 10:06 pm
I figured he was working on the cure.
January 21st, 2008 at 10:23 pm
thekugfusloth,
Your comment would make perfect sense had he not repeatedly named Sofia as the schaemic in that time, and if she hadnt on this very page said:
“But what if I was the one you needed saving from, Ive done it before, Addison. Nothing would stop me this time.”
January 21st, 2008 at 10:28 pm
So i’m going to guess any decomposition that takes place is healed right? Otherwise she’d die from the injuries.
January 21st, 2008 at 10:32 pm
Very confused by Billy’s comment.
January 21st, 2008 at 11:09 pm
I think Billy meant that the cure would have to undo, cure or regenerate any damage or decomposition to the imbiber, be it from tissue damage or rotting and traumatic injury. Otherwise if the schaemic took the cure it would simply die since its no longer possessed by its schaemic powers, being essentially a human who has already died and decomposed given a brief moment of life before it died again.
January 21st, 2008 at 11:18 pm
Ah, didn’t realize he meant after taking the cure. Anyway, the cure heals those things, and Addison (and Sofia) knows it does, because he’s seen it before. (He saw the cure work on a schaemiac over 2,000 years ago, invented by the previous smartest person on Earth, a vampire, before Addison took over that title, but Addison didn’t know all the ingredients and the inventor died before telling him.)
January 22nd, 2008 at 1:49 am
OOH MAJOR SPOILER
So Addison isn’t the smartest person ever and always hes just the smartest thats not dead (or undead both work). And there was another schaemiac 2000 years ago interesting.
By the way is the fact that the schaemiac Addison first saw around the time of Jesus (whether or not hes the son of god or not is another matter but there is proof from the jews that he even existed cause there was a record somewhere that they cruicified him) just a coincidence or are you doing some real lame thing to him
January 22nd, 2008 at 3:04 am
…. all i can say ZOMGWTOMGBBQS this is brilliant…. if i were addicted to something and needed a fixed every so often this would b it. cant wait till next update
January 22nd, 2008 at 5:55 am
So a vampire born a vampire who becomes a Schaemiac is just screwed then, or is there (Potentially or possibly) a way to revert them to their original vampyric state?
January 22nd, 2008 at 9:21 am
Screwed? How would being a schaemiac be “screwed?” I’d say apart from the ickyness, the worst part is over at that point, so just get yourself fixed up a little and enjoy knowing that you could end the world in a matter of days if the barista at Starbucks put too much vanilla in you chai tea.
January 22nd, 2008 at 10:35 am
“So Addison isn’t the smartest person ever”
I didn’t say that.
January 22nd, 2008 at 1:35 pm
Yes, knew it the first time I saw her. She’s the first Schaemiac xD
Lots of love!

to Diego Nuñez
Following standard procedures, you press the syringe into the back of the zombie’s neck and pump the glittering serum into its brain and spinal cord.
There is a thin pneumatic hiss, and the zombie staggers forward, limbs shuddering, before slumping to the floor as if dead. Following standard procedures, you press the syringe into the back of the zombie’s neck and pump the glittering serum into its brain and spinal cord.
There is a thin pneumatic hiss, and the zombie staggers forward, limbs shuddering, before slumping to the floor as if dead. Diego Nuñez’s skin shivers for a moment, and the contents of the syringe begin their slow, molecular work.
BTW keep up the good work Bobby, cant wait till the next page

“… a schaemiac over 2,000 years ago …”
January 22nd, 2008 at 8:47 pm
Just a stab in the dark… and this is maybe just me overthinking from how hostile he was to Francis and how he spoke of her then, and how he’s not going all AFP on Sofia… they had a thing didn’t they? Even better, he gave her that ring. Lol. I mean, she’s tried to kill everybody before yet she’s still aliv.. hmm… conscious walking around making more threats.
Either there was one thing Addison didn’t know, at that time (how to kill a schaemiac), or he did and just didn’t tell the rest of the vampire nation. Or maybe he’s just drunk and might attack her in the next flash back lol. Just a thought.
January 22nd, 2008 at 10:47 pm
Note to Self. When in the presence of schamecs…..carry a pocket stake
January 23rd, 2008 at 12:42 pm
So far… as we know there have been 4 schematics
In backwards order
1) Sullivan
2) Francis
3) Sofia
4) Unknown older schematic
January 23rd, 2008 at 1:44 pm
Two thousand years…So Addison and Sofia are both that old?? Also, you said Addison took over for some other super smart vampire who had previously made the cure but died before he/she could tell Addison all the ingredients. So that means that Addison working off the ingredients he knew of and taking into consideration what was available two thousand years ago managed to make the cure over again. That’s Addison F**king Payne for you, smartest vamp to ever walk the planet ^_^
January 23rd, 2008 at 2:00 pm
That other super smart vampire certainly sounds smarter than AFP, assuming he invented the cure from scratch, whereas it appears to have taken Addison 2000 years to reinvent it, despite knowing some of the ingredients…
January 23rd, 2008 at 2:37 pm
“That other super smart vampire certainly sounds smarter than AFP, assuming he invented the cure from scratch, whereas it appears to have taken Addison 2000 years to reinvent it, despite knowing some of the ingredients…”
Addison didn’t start trying to reinvent it until the 13th century, and who says it didn’t take the previous genius vampire 20,000 years to invent it? Addison’s also been very busy with other things in the past 800 years.
January 23rd, 2008 at 3:32 pm
“Two thousand years…So Addison and Sofia are both that old??”
I might be wrong on this but I think I remember Bobby saying Addison was born around the year or a little before that, and not sure if Sofia’s age was ever mentioned. He said Addison had seen the cure work, but I’m not sure if Sofia was around back then to see it in action or if Addison just told her about it.
January 23rd, 2008 at 3:33 pm
Damn was correcting a typo and deleted the year on that post. I think Bobby mentioned Addison being born around the year 0, or a bit before that. A maybe being a hundred years or so. But in that general vicinity.
January 23rd, 2008 at 3:33 pm
Sofia was born around 1100 A.D.
January 23rd, 2008 at 3:34 pm
A bit maybe being a hundred years or so! Good lord, I can’t type tonight.
January 23rd, 2008 at 3:51 pm

Yup, both those possibilities had crossed my mind.
January 23rd, 2008 at 4:59 pm
an older shaemiac… wow.
January 23rd, 2008 at 7:16 pm
Bobby,
at least on of the vampires was born a vamp, so i’m sure others have as well
2 questions
1) What would the cure do on them?
2) What would the cure do on them if they turned into a schematic?
January 23rd, 2008 at 7:28 pm
The answer is nothing to both.
January 24th, 2008 at 6:54 am
New page finished and sent off. It’s a doozy.
January 24th, 2008 at 9:22 am
Nice, cant wait.
January 24th, 2008 at 2:43 pm
Yay new page coming Owen rocks. And Owen you have to be crazy to be drawing the millions of comics you do, all under someone named Crosby(who gets the pretty new reference)
January 24th, 2008 at 3:23 pm
He also draws other comics for other writers, but I don’t think any of those are online right now (not sure).
January 24th, 2008 at 3:55 pm
“That other super smart vampire certainly sounds smarter than AFP, assuming he invented the cure from scratch, whereas it appears to have taken Addison 2000 years to reinvent it, despite knowing some of the ingredients…”
You should also also consider, some of the ingredients used in form of herbs and other natural materials might have undergone extinction over the course of the centuries, and finding replacements might not have been that easy.
